Metal Man
"Strike while the metal is hot ", is not just a cliché. That is the method applied to hand-forge this metal sculpture. This piece was labor intense. Many hammer strikes went into shaping the metal to desired results. Arc welding was applied for this motif. The cutting torch was needed, and some grinding had to be done. The challenges presented by this unique sculpture were creatively rewarding.
Here is a full shot of the finished sculpture, weighing in at approx. 200lbs. All parts are life-sized.
